An app developed in response to the Covid-19 pandemic that helps schools in Jamaica 🇯🇲 track student and staff temperatures.
Among the (still current!) pandemic’s ever-evolving information, a schoolteacher in Jamaica needed to find a better solution than pen and paper to keep track of temperature checks and see larger school trends.
We began by defining the different categories of users and what each type of profile would need to do.
The wireframes started with the core app function: record a temperature and link that information to a particular individual. Each school would assign their students and staff a QR code that could be shown in app or printed for greater flexibility.
We also knew this needed to be a webapp for easy access across different devices, and built for the most common mobile screen resolution in Jamaica at 16:9.
Green was already defined as a core color to identify the app as 🇯🇲 Jamaican. Through many conversations and a questionnaire, we determined brand key words as modern, helpful, and economical.
We leaned in to Material Design as our base because the most common operating system is Android.
